He Can Do That.

When I was growing up, I believed that my daddy could do anything! Now that I think of it, I STILL pretty much think that.

…You need your car fixed? He can do that.

…You need your home remodeled? He can do that.

…You need someone to make you some furniture? He can do that.

…You need your antiques restored? He can do that.

…You need a four-wheeler trail guide? He can do that.

…You need someone to show you how to play ball? He can do that.

…You need prayer and an encouraging word? He can do that.

He is the most hard-working and creative man I have ever known!

As a child, I didn’t realize any of that stuff about him. He was just my DAD. The most important thing to me was knowing that if my daddy was around, I was safe. I never thought twice about not feeling safe and secure.

Now I grew up in the “June Cleaver” days, when mom stayed home and took care of everything on the home front, while dad was out working. He was a pastor and entrepreneur, but his hands showed much more than that. They were rough and strong. You could tell that he was a hard worker just by looking at them.

I always had bad leg aches growing up. I don’t know if it was growing pains or that these little short legs had gone a lot of steps as a busy-body little girl.  I can remember going into my parents’ bedroom at night and waking them up. I would say, “Daddy, my legs hurt. Will you rub them?” Mom would get me a little, orange baby aspirin. (I always thought those were so yummy. LOL.) Dad would get the rubbing alcohol and put some in his big, rough, strong hands and rub my legs until I fell asleep. No one could make me feel so secure as I would in those moments.

Whether or not you grew up with a dad that made you feel this way, you CAN have that now. Your Heavenly Father wants you to come to Him in times of trouble, stress, sickness, and when you just feel like you can’t go on anymore.

Do you need someone to take your worry and stress? HE can do that.

Do you need rest for your body and mind?  HE can do that.

Do you need hope that you can go on? HE can do that.

Do you need comfort from the grief you carry? HE can do that.

What do you need? I rest assured that HE. CAN. DO. THAT. TOO!

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 –
